Case of the Month - July

This is "Little Itchy". He came to us when he was about 8 weeks old. He was missing almost all of his hair and was extremely itchy (hence, the name!) He scratched all of the time and was very uncomfortable. He also had a severe skin infection. In addition, he had a large intestinal parasite burden.

We treated "Little Itchy" with Revolution, antibiotics and dewormed him - this is him now!! He had a severe case of SCABIES (SARCOPTIC MANGE). It is very contagious to other dogs and can even infect humans and cause a transient rash. He also eats Royal Canin Digest and Skin puppy food and that has been helpful in his recovery. Fortunately, "Little Itchy" responded well to treatment and continues to grow like a normal puppy.

We sent a Wisdom Mixed breed DNA blood test off for him and found out that he is a Labrador Retriever, Pembroke Welsh Corgi and Austrailian Shepherd Mix!
