COURSE DESCRIPTION

The DENTAL RADIOGRAPHY seminar is designed to equip the technician or veterinarian with the necessary skills to successfully take dental radiographs. Whether your practice is using dental film or digital technology, we will train you to properly position the film or digital sensor to achieve excellent results. Trouble shooting poor images, skewed angles and superimposed roots will be discussed at length.
In our laboratory, participants will be using the XV Lite digital system provided by Dentalaire.

The SURGICAL EXTRACTIONS seminar is designed for veterinarians wishing to improve their surgical technique. The course reviews gingival flap preparation, tissue handling and the use of a dental bur to remove root fragments. Miltex will provide a pack of instruments for each participant's use.

RADIOGRAPHIC INTERPRETATION FOR VETERINARIANS:
This course will review normal radiographic anatomy. Pathology reviewed will include periapical abscess recognition, presence of resorptive lesions, periodontal bone loss, cavity recognition, fractures and identification of a non-vital tooth. Radiographs will be presented and discusssed through case presentations and evaluations.

For Referring Veterinarians:

For those of you who have not visited The Carolinas Animal Hospital and Dental Clinic, our dental operatory is equipped with Digital Dental Radiography, Surgivet anesthetic monitors, patient warming systems and sevoflourane anesthesia. All dental referrals are followed up with a dental referral letter, copies of lab work and digital radiographs, and a telephone consultation with the referring veterinarian if requested. Your client and their pet will receive the highest quality dental care in a warm, friendly environment. Our hospital is a new, state of the art, AAHA accredited facility that you will be proud to refer your patients to. We have been serving the Carolinas for over 15 years.
